Review: Too Faced Sketch Marker Liquid Eyeliner

Thanks to my lovely family, I was gifted the Too Faced Sketch Marker Liquid Eyeliner for my birthday. It comes in 12 lovely shades, many of which look beautiful for spring, but I have the standard black shade. For starters, the packaging is absolutely adorable. It's made to look like a calligraphy pen, meaning the cap looks and opens like a real pen. The font of the writing is beautiful as well - it plays off the calligraphy theme - and makes it a gorgeous product to display on your desk or in your makeup collection.

I'm a huge liquid liner fan, the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner and Stila Stay All Day Liquid Liner being my top two favorites. Both of those products have slightly flexible, pointed nibs, so I was slightly unsure what to expect with Too Faced's version, which claimed to be an innovative style. The nib looks similar to the other two, but instead of being flexible, it's stiffer, like the point of a pen. Because of this, it takes a little longer to get used to the feeling, however, after assimilating, it's very easy to use.

The pointed shape of the liner allows it to create sharp, defined lines. Once you've achieved a steady hand, your liner will be, well, on point. The best part, however, is the formula of this Too Faced liner. Stila's may be ‘stay all day,’ but this one seriously performs. With or without primer, the Sketch Marker liner will not fade from your lids. This is especially helpful going into the summer; makeup begins to melt off skin as the weather gets warmer.

Lastly, a swipe of liquid liner perfectly complements any eye look. Whether it's lots of lash, dramatic shadow, or barely-there shimmer, adding a touch of liquid liner will keep the look polished and sophisticated. In addition, it will make you look like you slaved over your makeup, when all you did was draw a few lines. Don't be discouraged by liquid liner seeming difficult to apply - you can do it with a bit of practice and confidence. Try it out, you might just succeed.
